Image Comics revealed the “Impact Variants” for Cemetery Beach by Warren Ellis (the writer behind such series as Planetary and Nextwave) and Jason Howard (the artist for The Astounding Wolf-Man and Super Dinosaur).

Each cover features artwork by Howard drawn in the style of creators he counts as influences.  

Those creators are:

• Todd McFarlane (Spider-Man)
• Mike Mignola (Hellboy)
• Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira)
• Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series)
• Stephen Platt  Prophet)
• Frank Miller (Sin City)
• Dave Johnson (Super Patriot)

Per Image’s release, Cemetery Beach is a “a high-speed action serial paired with a 2001: A Space Odyssey-level awe and wonder” starring a professional pathfinder who is aided by a young murderess as they navigate a sprawling and secret off-world colony rife with bad guys and adventure.  The series reunites Ellis and Howard, who previously created the well-received series Trees.

Cemetery Beach issues #1-4 are available now.  Issue #5 can be purchased January 9th wherever quality comics can be found.
